Anita Obasi

Anita Obasi (she/her) is a dedicated advocate for queer and BIPOC communities in Los Angeles, serving as co-director of the Negritude Fest and the founder of Sapphic LA, a queer-centered community hub in LA.
With a deep commitment to cultural empowerment and intersectional representation, Anita has expanded Sapphic LA’s reach through a free weekly newsletter, inclusive events, city guides, and content that celebrates and uplifts the queer community.
Her work with the Negritude Fest brings her passion for celebrating Black identity to a larger stage, fostering spaces where voices across the African diaspora can come together in creativity, dialogue, and unity.
As an experiential storyteller with a background in producing events of all types, Anita is continuously building concepts that work to drive meaningful, lasting change.
