FANTASTIC PLANS FOR A BLACK FUTURE:
Afrofuturism, Freedom Dreaming, and Collective Action
Moving forward, we turn our gaze to Afrofuturism —not just the imaginative visions of a Black future, but also its everyday manifestations. Our panelists will discuss mundane Afrofuturism, the vital role of imagination in shaping liberation, and how futurism intersects with identity. We'll also be inviting artists to create work inspired by these themes, to be showcased at Negritude Fest.

LIBERATION THROUGH FOOD:
THE LEGACY OF SOUP JOUMOU
We close our journey with a celebration of food as a revolutionary act. Learn about the powerful history behind Haiti’s liberation and how Soup Joumou, the dish of revolution, became a symbol of freedom—eaten every January 1st to honor Haitian independence. Attendees will have the opportunity to share in this tradition, with Soup Joumou catered for all.
Each of these events are an invitation to gather, learn, and envision a liberated future together. Join us on the Road to Negritude.
